Our January Show Schedule and Premium Instructions Update

We’ve got a very busy month ahead of us! We’ll be at several train shows joining the Pennsylvania LEGO Users Group (PennLUG) at their train layout as well as visiting friends. Let’s take a look at what January has to offer.

World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour Show, Oaks, Pennsylvania

A Norfolk & Western duo, A class and a Y6b, are being serviced in the yard before going out a coal drag.

This coming weekend, we’ll be at the World’s Greatest Hobby show in Oaks, Pennsylvania. Public hours are Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th, from 9-6 and 9-5 respectively. For those in the area, it is the same convention center where Philly Brickfest is held every year: the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center. We attended this show last year when it was on Monroeville, Pennsylvania (closer to Pittsburgh) and it was one of our favorite shows. There will also be several model train manufacturers in attendance with their own displays, and much more. More information is available on the show website.

Greenberg Train and Toy Show, York, Pennsylvania

The following weekend, on January 19 and 20, we’ll join PennLUG again at their layout in York, Pennsylvania for another train show. This is a home show for us, as we’re based in York, incidentally not too far from the Fairgrounds where the show is held. Greenberg Train shows are always fun events to relax and enjoy running trains. The show will be open from 10-4 both Saturday and Sunday.

Amherst Model Railway Show

Cale will be joining the New England LEGO Users Group (NELUG) at their layout in Amherst, Massachusetts on January 26 and 27. This is one of the largest shows in the United States with acres of trains to watch, vendor tables, and historical societies. There will even be an operating 2-foot gauge steam locomotive to enjoy! More information is available on the show website.

Premium Instructions Update

With this one-after-another show schedule for the remainder of the month, and needing to oblige to our responsibilities with PennLUG, we unfortunately have to put our two upcoming Premium Instructions kits on hold again. We have been able to make progress recently but we will soon lose most of our free time in attending these shows, which is important as well. January is coincidentally one of the months when several shows occur, and we always try to attend where we can in order to show our hobby to more people. Cale and I are committed to having these two new kits on sale in the first half of February, with more on the way following the release.

Lastly I would like to say thank you for the positive feedback on our T-1 locomotive announcement. We’re encouraged by the reactions we saw and have already begun the next steps of production. In case you missed the announcement article, you can read it here.

Thanks for reading, and if you’re in the area, we hope to see you at one of the shows we’ll be at this month.

Play well.

Glenn and Cale
