Glad you enjoyed the article. 24V DC in to the track, yes. Then current limiter and voltage regulator to feed the motor controller a steady 10ish volts.

The only thing to watch out for is making sure the 2 bearings on each axle are perfectly parallel. If they’re even the slightest bit off, you might as well use brass tubes.
