When Brick Model Railroader began in the late December of 2016, we had no idea where it would go. We certainly didn’t have plans to be selling instructions for models, and be working towards selling full kits as we find ourselves today. But fate seemed to intervene and has switched us to this express track we’re on now.
On February 25th, 2019, Brick Model Railroader reached a milestone. We sold and delivered our 1,000th Premium Instruction Kit.
When Glenn Holland and I started working on our very first Premium Instruction Kit, the Pullman PS-1 40ft Boxcar, Glenn asked me, “How many do you think we can sell?” My response, which has now become a running joke between us, “I think we can maybe sell ten.” Glenn convinced me to make twenty. In the two years since, we’ve sold just over 200 of the PS-1 kits.
To date, we have produced nine different Premium Instruction Kits, selling our 1,000th kit to Kevin Johns. Of course, we are not done yet; far from it. Our next kit, the International Car Co. Extended Vision Caboose, is well under way, as we are moving forward with our first full kit, and first steam locomotive kit, the Reading T-1 4-8-4.
Our plan is to release the Extended Vision Caboose at the end of March. We will be restocking our older kits as well at that time. The Reading T-1 kit has no definite release date (or price) yet, but we’re plugging away at it. Currently the model is being transferred into CAD so that we can start working on the instructions. We’ll post a more in depth update on the T-1 later.
We here at Brick Model Railroader would like to thank everyone who has supported us so far by buying one of our kits, decal sets, or other products. You are what keeps us going, and it’s been an awesome experience sharing our models with you. We hope to keep doing this for a long time to come.
