Announcing Two New Premium Instructions kits from Brick Model Railroader!

We know you’ve been waiting for our next Premium Instruction kit. Well, the wait is over, and to make up for the delay, we have not one, but two new Premium Instructions for you: the Thrall 61′-1″ Bulkhead Flatcar, and the Pacific Car & Foundry 50′ Insulated Boxcar. These cars are available for purchase now, and will begin shipping next week. Let’s take a closer look at our new models.

All of our previous freight cars have been steam to transition era prototypes. These two new cars are our first post steam models. Both cars were first introduced in the mid 1960’s, and continued being used by railroads all the way into the 2000’s, with some still in service on railroads today.

Thrall 61′-1″ Bulkhead Flatcar

Our model is based on the Thrall 61′-1″ Bulkhead Flatcar built beginning in1967 and continuing through the mid 1970’s. This car has seen a long service life with many still in use today. These car were typically used to carry lumber and other bulk items that did not need the protection of a boxcar, but still benefited from the bulkheads on each end to help secure the load.

Our instructions include both the and open center brace, and closed center brace version, as well as instruction to build a wrapped lumber load for the car.

You can purchase the Thrall Bulkhead Flatcar in our BMR Store through the link below.

And lastly thank you again for supporting Brick Model Railroader. We hope you will enjoy these new products and look forward to seeing the models you build. For those wanting to buy our older kits, we do not have restocks this round as we wanted to concentrate on these two new kits, but we will be restocking our older models again in the near future. Until then, thank you from all of us here at Brick Model Railroader.

Happy building.
