It&#8217;s the whimsy that always seems to find it&#8217;s way into them. With the scale itself being so large, the modelers tend to pick relatively small trains to model to keep things manageable. Thus the trains take on an almost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/steampoweredbricks\/12075887056\/in\/album-72157640020431134\/\">caricature\u00a0like\u00a0quality<\/a>\u00a0that brings out the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/steampoweredbricks\/12075633994\/in\/album-72157640020431134\/\">fun<\/a> in model railroading. That is exactly what you find here in BrickBaron&#8217;s scene, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/14964802@N07\/31809186531\/in\/faves-35019400@N06\/\">Sunday Afternoon Tea Train to Tetley<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 5577px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/14964802@N07\/31809186531\/in\/faves-35019400@N06\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/c1.staticflickr.com\/1\/664\/31809186531_f7a1879e8d_o.jpg?resize=474%2C339&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"474\" height=\"339\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">The colors, the style, and the detail al work in harmony to build a believable cartoon world.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The whole scene comes together to look less like a train diorama, and more like a fanciful illustration. Mainly because it was inspired by the\u00a0art illustrations of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rowland_Emett\">Rowland Emett <\/a>and Peter Barnsfield, who&#8217;s work the builder came came across many years ago in an old magazine A.W.N.U.T.S. (Always whimsical and not always to scale).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/PpDVsM\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/live.staticflickr.com\/655\/31116446493_d3d262f03c_n.jpg?resize=320%2C183&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"LEGO Sunday Afternoon Tea Train to Tetley\" width=\"320\" height=\"183\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I would say BrickBaron nailed the whimsy he was looking to portray quite beautifully.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/14964802@N07\/31778075102\/in\/dateposted\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/live.staticflickr.com\/347\/31778075102_ef303c8ab5_n.jpg?resize=320%2C320&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"LEGO Sunday Afternoon Tea Train to Tetley\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can&#8217;t help but fall in love with the little cartoon world created here. The little &#8220;tea kettle&#8221; of a locomotive is instantly endearing.
